What is this service?

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service offer; Free Home Fire Safety Visits and Free Smoke Alarms. 

The Fire Safety Service aims to support people in the community by making them aware of the potential hazards within their own home and telling them how they can take appropriate actions to prevent them. The visit is not to judge peoples' lifestyles, but keep them safe from fire. The visit will:

• be arranged at a time to suit you
• cover the main causes of fire in the home and what to consider when making a home fire escape plan
• provide you with advice on the actions to be taken in the event of a fire
• test your existing fire alarms

To qualify for a free smoke alarm from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, one or more of the following must be met: over 75 years old, long term sickness, have a disability, be physically unable to fit a smoke alarm.
